In 2015 Kyoto city celebrates 400 years of the Rimpa school of Japanese painting. Rimpa is an art form that has deeply influenced Kyoto’s traditional industries and other crafts, and Rimpa’s influence can also be felt in modern art and design. Artists in Kyoto pay much attention to this celebration and try to create things inspired by the Rimpa school. Kaleidoscope Museum of Kyoto has also joined celebration and produced special kaleidoscopes on this theme. Kaleidoscope Museum of Kyoto is working hard to promote 2017 BKS Convention in Kyoto.
