We're starting a series about Kaleidoscopes and the Brewster Society... "Did you know?"

It only seems logical to start with our namesake, Sir David Brewster, in 1816! From Cozy Baker's Through the Kaleidoscope ...and Beyond. Did you know? 😊

Anyone else feel like a kaleidoscopeaholic? 😝

How blessed I am to have found a purse that has 16 pockets and I can fit at least 11 substantial Kaleidoscopes in them to take wherever I’d like to go.

How do you travel with your kaleidoscope?

Can anyone name the Kaleidoscopes that are in the purse? Or know what designer created the bag, or who her famous Kaleidoscope designer sister is?

Happy 1st day of the year!

✨ Happy New Year from the Brewster Kaleidoscope Society! ✨

As we step into 2026, we’re celebrating the vibrant creativity of our kaleidoscope community — artists, collectors, and admirers alike.

Each of these beautiful mandala firework images was crafted by a different artist, reminding us that there are endless ways to see the world — and even more ways to be inspired by it. As we reflect on the beauty of 2025, we’re already dreaming in color for what’s ahead in 2026.

This year, we invite you to be curious.
Ask questions.
Share your favorite scopes or kaleidoscope mandala images or videos.
Tell us what you’d love to see more of.

✨ Curious about how kaleidoscopes are made? Want to get involved or learn more? Let’s make 2026 the year of wonder.

I was once told by a kaleidoscope designer that kaleidoscope people and ukalele people are the BEST people. I witnessed that myself this past weekend. While at the Nellie Bly Kaleidoscopes and Art Glass Weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the fund raiser for the Jerome Humane Society, coordinated by Mary of Nellie Bly. There were 10-12 manniqines made by many artists, that were auctioned off to raise money. One of the kaleidoscope artists, Carolyn Bennett, saw her mannequin get bid up to $4000. With the two competing bids, Carolyn agreed to do a second for the $3500 thatthe other bidder was willing to pay. 💰 A total of $7500 for the Humane Society with two mannequins by Carolyn Bennett!!! it was such a beautiful thing! ... Learning how to build a scope can be one of the greatest gifts for someone who loves collecting kaleidoscopes! Not only do you learn how scopes are made, in many cases, as at our convention each year, you learn to make them from and with the artist! I had an amazing opportunity to make 3 kaleidoscopes this weekend at the Nellie Bly Weekend. This is also, like our convention, one of the "must do" events. While there were many classes (sorry Mark Tickle and Peggy Kittleson that I didn't make your class...) I was able to take classes from Steve Kittleson, Sue Rioux and Koji Yamami. Here's a little insight into those scopes, and how they were made! ... See MoreSee Less
