“Papillon” (“Butterfly” in French) was conceived as symbolic of the butterfly’s ability to emerge from a period of confinement into a lifetime of freedom and beauty. The experience of millions of people in the last 18 months is gradually giving rise to a period of optimism and renewed ability to envision a return to a life we have so badly missed.
“Papillon” is a two-mirror scope with a fused glass body and a fluid-filled cell containing glass, lampworked pieces, and found objects. The mirror system includes a dichroic element. The cell is interchangeable and additional cells are available. The stand is walnut.
