ICE Randy & Shelley Knapp

ICE was a production scope from 1995, signed “Randy ♥ Shelley Knapp 1995”.  It was covered by blue stained Birdseye maple veneer and had a “roof prism” style cell with a blue background.  It was a companion piece to “FIRE” which had a red stained Birdseye maple veneer and had a red background to the cell.  The gold anodized turning end had a rubber grip that unluckily has been lost from the scope in my collection.  The cell contains flame worked glass and dichroic, predominantly blues and whites to give the appearance of ice crystals.

It should be mentioned that not only is the scope in my collection missing the rubber grip on the turning end but the Birdseye maple veneer is not stained blue.  I assume that it was originally stained blue but the stain has faded over the years.

It should also be noted that apparently only the first versions of this scope the rubber grip and the “roof prism” type cell, the later versions of FIRE and ICE had knurling machined onto the turning end and a regular cell, not the roof prism style.
