Biography/Collector Statement

I have a Masters in Electrical Engineering from UCF and an undergraduate degree from OSU. Most of my career has been in designing infra-red night vision and laser systems. Optics and glass are strong passions with me. I have a few torches and make glass containers and fill them with different inert gasses and then apply high voltages to get different colored plasma. Mostly I make holograms and have a big lab in Milford, New Hampshire for that purpose. My first kaleidoscope was made with Miss Allison, my 4th grade teacher. The cardboard tube was hand painted with spirals of fluorescent green and yellow. Making unusual 3D patterns with complex mirror systems is something I really like to do. The company that does this is Love and Wisdom, LLC. I am working on making a really interesting kaleidoscope but it is not really ready to show anyone yet. i think that we have barely scratched the surface with kaleidoscopes. Technology is now available to create kaleidoscopes that were not even possible a few years ago. My favorite kaleidoscope is the one where I have no idea how it was made - a pattern of indescribable beauty moving as if by magic.
