Hello, my name is Christal Parmain, I started my kaleidoscope collection in 2018 by buying my first kaleidoscope in a toy store. Since then I have been interested in its history and all the other objects related to it. I bought a lot of books about kaleidoscopes, glasswork... most of my collection are second-hand objects. I have a wide variety of "après la pluie " (after the rain) kaleidoscopes because Mr. Dominic Stora has his workshop in the region where I live and I have met him on many occasions. Also I have several Van Cort kaleidoscopes that are often found on the French second-hand market because some models were sold by "Nature et Découvertes" (the Nature Company).
I collect kaleidoscopes because they're an object that intrigues me. At first i saw the kaleidoscope as a toy but after several searches, I was taken by a passion for this object that I see today as a true complex work of art. They come in many forms, and the patterns they present are fascinating.
