Biography/Collector Statement

Started collecting on a whim -- visiting a kaleidoscope store in Old Town Alexandria, VA while on vacation in 1988. Collection has grown to 149 scopes. Most interesting purchases, when I met two of my favorite scope artists - David Sugich at an art show in Santa Barbara, CA, in 2005 and Marc Tickle when I visited his studio in Asheville, NC, in 2014. Collection displayed in my "Kaleido-Cave", giving me great joy when visitors, young and old, come to the house and ask to see my collection.
